With iPad 3 nearing its debut the rumor mill is running on full throttle. With just a day left to make speculations before they are all put to rest by Apple, The Verge says it has some new info regarding specs and configurations.
As per the reports iPad 3 will be sporting 1 Gigabytes of RAM which is pretty much a reality given the higher number of pixels the device has to handle on the Retina Display. There have been rumors flying that the iPad 3 would be LTE capable, and that it will definitely be announced for both the Verizon and AT&T networks. To be clear, that would mean two distinct, separate versions of the LTE tablet (one for each network). In addition, there’s a third international model which does double duty on 3G; a CDMA / GSM model using a similar radio chipset to the iPhone 4S (a Qualcomm Gobi chip).
We believe that different LTE versions will be in just different packaging rather than really product differentiation. AT&T and Verizon have two different flavors of LTE so that may require two different products. Considering the costs that would be involved we are sure Apple will also introduce a Non – LTE version at a cheaper price tag, saving money, battery and space.
